The Pearce Statue needs you – Community Workshops

The THI team is looking for volunteers to help produce a commemorative leaflet celebrating the upcoming restoration of the Pearce Statue. Perhaps you would enjoy unearthing facts about Sir William Pearce or the statue’s sculptor Edward Onslow Ford? Maybe you’d like to learn more about the creation, care and maintenance of bronze statues? Would you love to get an introduction to graphic design and desk top publishing by assisting with the layout and design of the actual leaflet? No previous experience required, just loads of enthusiasm! Local historians, bronze buffs and digital whizzes are of course welcome!!

Please come along to a community workshop on Friday 22nd March or Friday 5th April from 1pm to 3pm where you can get involved!

The workshops will be held at Impact Arts Govan workshop, 847 Govan Road, Govan, Glasgow, G51 3UU. To find out more  contact James Gow now on:

From the end of March, you will also be to keep up to date by using the interactive exhibition space set up in the window of Impact Arts’ base on Govan Road (directly opposite the Lyceum). Go on, get involved and get into Govan.
