Seeking Expressions of Interest!
Govan Cross Townscape Heritage Initiative (GCTHI) wishes to commission a professional ceramicist to undertake our Community Ceramics Project. The project intent is twofold: to give local residents an opportunity to learn about the use of ceramics in traditional buildings, and to give them the chance to try their hand at ceramics through practical workshops.
The project is themed around the use of decorative ceramic tiles in Glasgow tenement closes ‘The Wally Close’ and the use of mosaic tiles in shop entrance ways, although the use of ceramics in buildings generally and around the world will also be of interest.
If you are a ceramicist interested in running this project, then please submit your expression of interest to us by Wednesday 5 February 2014. We expect to issue a formal tender on 7 February with a 28 February 2014 return date.
This project is funded by Govan Cross Townscape Heritage Initiative and is due to commence in April 2014.
