Ground works are due to commence in May 2021 in preparation for the first phase of development at Water Row.
You may be aware that Govan Housing Association intends to develop the east site of Water Row, where the informal car park is located, into a stunning new waterfront destination for Govan. The Association has recently submitted the exciting project proposals, comprising 92 flats for mid-market rent and 6 ground floor commercial units, to Glasgow City Council for Planning Approval. The main building works are expected to start in January 2022.
Pre-construction ground works, funded by the Scottish Government’s Clyde Mission Fund, will commence on 3 May 2021 and will continue throughout the summer. The car park will close permanently from this date. The popular Govan Saturday Market will continue to trade at a new spot at Govan Cross from 9am-2pm offering its usual selection of stalls and goods.
