The Govan Book of Memories will be an interactive, involving and completely unique document, telling the significant, the forgotten and the inspiring memories of Govan. It will show off the local secrets and stories that make Govan a place to be proud of, and will exist both as a digital document and as a series of beautiful hard copies that we hope will find their way into your home.
Govan Cross Townscape Heritage Initiative has commissioned icecream architecture to create this book over the next nine months, working entirely with local input and inspiration. In the coming weeks, icecream architecture will be out and about in Govan searching for local stories through quirky interventions, creative conversations and workshops.
Who are icecream architecture?
icecream architecture was founded in 2009 by Sarah and Des and has now grown to a group of four Designers/Artists. The practice has evolved from its grounding in design and it’s obsession with successful community consultation into a highly interactive think-tank for the promotion of ideas and their subsequent realisation. They have a passion for working with people and a passion for icecream (often finding the two go together very well!). Click here to find out more.
