Thriving Places Background

Thriving Places was introduced in Govan in 2017.  It is a ten-year commitment from
Glasgow Community Planning Partnership (CPP) with the aim of helping to improve
the quality of life of people who live and work in Govan, along with another 9 areas in
Glasgow.

Each area has its own unique and complex needs and strengths, and a guiding principle
of Thriving places is taking an individual, community-tailored approach to how community
groups, services and organisations work together to address local priorities.

Through discussions and consultations within the community, a number of local priorities
emerged for Govan. These have formed the basis for the working groups listed below,
which are made up of organisations, groups,  statutory services, and community members.

  • Food For Good
  • Arts, Heritage and Wellbeing
  • Learning for Life and Work
  • Children & Families
  • Young People
  • Positive Communities

Please note that Thriving Places is not a CGAP/ THI project. If you have any specific questions,
