Covid-19 Temporary Emergency Fund Govan

£200,000 of Scottish Government money has now been distributed by the Covid-19 Temporary Emergency Funding Group (TEFG) to assist local organisations and groups in supporting the community through this crisis.

TEFG is made up of Linthouse, Elderpark and Govan Housing Associations; the four local councillors, representing three political parties, and Govan Thriving Places representing community planning in Govan. You can find out more about this group through their terms of reference.

What has been funded

You can see a comprehensive list of the activities and organisations which received funding here: Covid 19 TEFG distribution list August 2020

Projects were assessed and funded under the following themes:

• Building Connections
• Learning for Life and Work
• Young People
• Environment and Community Safety
• Food for Good
• Supporting Children and Families
• Arts, Heritage and Well Being

Moving forward

It is clear that although this ‘Supporting Communities’ money has gone some way to meeting the initial needs brought about by lockdown, the current situation is very far from returning to ‘business as usual’. As such, further monies are being secured to continue and extend the support which has been made available thus far. More information about a second wave of funded support will be made available in August 2020.
