Masterplan to be drawn up for Water Row

A Masterplan is to be drawn up for Govan’s prime development site – Water Row. The move signals a clear intention to bring forward development at Water Row, widely recognised to be of the most exciting development sites on the city’s waterfront, after nearly 40 years of little use. The Masterplan, which will be produced with the local community, will be led by the Council, Central Govan Action Plan and Govan Housing Association. It will look at the potential for a whole new development at Water Row, including new housing, commercial, community and leisure uses, as well as an exemplar district heating scheme using renewable energy technology that draws heat from the River Clyde. The Masterplan will get underway in November 2017 with draft layouts for the site available by summer 2018.
