On Tuesday 22nd January 2013, Govan Cross THI held it’s very first ‘Winter Warmer’ event in the Pearce Institute, Govan.
Professor Stephen Driscoll, from Glasgow University Archaeology Department, kicked off the evening with a talk entitled ‘Romancing the Govan Stones: Archaeological Explorations of an Ancient British Capital’. This was followed by an introduction to heritage-led regeneration: ‘Govan – Recovering the Place’, presented by David Robertson, a Planning Consultant with extensive experience of working in Govan.
The talks were very interesting and informative and the selection of delicious cakes went down very well indeed!
All in all the evening was a great success and our thanks go out to everyone who came along to join us!
We hope to hold out second ‘Winter Warmer’ towards the end of February/beginning of March. So watch this space …
